- The technological capacity of the company from Alicante has been valued by Sociedad de Proyectos para la Transformación Digital to become the technological partner of Alicante Puerto de Salida 2022-23.

Alicante, December 7, 2022 – Verne Tecnology Group, a business holding company from Alicante specialized in large telecommunications and technology infrastructures, together with the Sociedad de Proyectos para la Transformación Digital (SPTD), announces that it will be the technological partner of Alicante Puerto de Salida 2023.
The technology company will provide the more than 53,000m2 of the Ocean Live Park (formerly known as Race Village) with the necessary fixed and wifi infrastructure with 3000 meters of fiber optics and state-of-the-art connectivity to ensure the connection of the organization, teams, companies, professionals, media and thousands of attendees, in what is one of the most important events for the world of sport and for the region, which will start on January 7 and culminate on January 15, 2023 with the start of The Ocean Race from the Port of Alicante.
The Verne Telco division of the Alicante holding company, with extensive international experience in the design, installation and maintenance of telecommunications networks, will be responsible for the design and configuration engineering, implementation and commissioning of all the fiber backbone connectivity and LAN infrastructure necessary to provide connectivity to both the workstations and the free wi-fi connection for the thousands of attendees. It will provide coverage for the Ocean Live Park, a space dedicated to new technologies and digital challenges, where innovative activities open to the public on technology, sports and sustainability will be carried out.

To provide optimal connectivity during the event and facilitate communications for organizations, athletes, professionals and the general public, more than 3,000 meters of fiber optics divided into 5 nodes will be deployed, as well as more than 6,000 meters of UTP cabling throughout the venue.
Throughout the 9 days of this sporting event, it is expected that more than 4,000 people per day, about 36,000 people, will use the free connection to communicate and send photos, videos and connections through the network to anywhere in the world.
With a team of highly qualified professionals and more than 40 years of experience in international communications and infrastructures, Verne Technology Group provides the technical and professional capabilities necessary for a project of this magnitude, the celebration of which represents an economic, technological, media and social boost for both Alicante and the Valencian Community. In addition, the Alicante company will also provide the presence of technical staff on-site during the event for any possible incidents or needs that may arise. It is estimated that Verne Technology Group’s technical teams will invest more than 1200 hours of work to provide connectivity 24 hours a day throughout the event.
The Ocean Race, in addition to being a unique sporting event in the world, is also an important economic and social boost for the region. According to the organization itself, the last edition held in Alicante created more than 1,200 jobs and had an impact of around 69 million euros on the region’s GDP.
Known as “The Everest of sailing”, The Ocean Race is the largest and most extreme sailing event in the world, which this year starts its route from Alicante, for the fifth time, in what will be the 50th anniversary of the race. After the starting gun from the Port of Alicante, the race will visit nine international cities during 6 months in a 32,000 nautical mile course that will culminate in Genoa (Italy).
