Hundreds of fans of the fashionable youtubers overflow the forecasts of the gaming tent of the Race Village. The nautical events are the main protagonists of most of the morning activities in the marina of Alicante.
Alicante Puerto de Encuentro closed its third day with a high level of visitors. More than 20,000 people attended the Race Village and enjoyed the wide range of leisure activities on offer at the Alicante marina docks. Early in the morning, there were queues at the access points to attend some of the activities scheduled for the morning. Of the wide range of activities on offer during the day, some of the attractions have registered long waits, an indication that the public has shown interest in enjoying the Nao Victoria, the visit to the Sar Mesana rescue boat or the gaming tent.
The general director of the Sociedad Proyectos Temáticos de la Comunitat Valenciana, Antonio Rodes indicated that “the large number of people who attended the third day at Alicante Puerto de Encuentro shows that Alicante is looking forward to enjoying the activities prepared in the Race Village; of course the level of satisfaction is high and confirms the proximity of Alicante’s people to the sea and the Sailing Tour of the World that will return to these docks in 2021”.
The appointments that the gaming-sports area has offered with the fashionable youtubers, has exceeded the attendance forecasts. From midday onwards, the first fans crowded into the entrance to guarantee themselves a seat and enjoy the shows offered by the youtubers DjMaRiio and CachoO1. During the different exhibitions, the public gave a great ovation; a sign that showed the commitment of the youth with these phenomena of the video games of the moment. At the same time as these shows, the finals of the IEsports league began to take place, with the participation of teams from the ten autonomous communities that have competed in the first National League of electronic video games between educational centres held in our country.
On this third day of Alicante Puerto de Encuentro, the gastronomy area offered a meeting with the Alicante chef María José San Román from the Monastrell restaurant. This Michelin star has given those present some advice and tips on oil; an ingredient that is considered a great jewel of the kitchen. In addition, there was also a workshop on dry rice, a key dish in the Mediterranean diet; this activity also sold out.
The day was closed with concerts by Blas Cantó and La Unión, two musical performances that livened up the Alicante night; a privilege enjoyed by all those present.
Sailing, the great protagonist of the day
The third day of the Race Village has been starring by the two nautical championships that have covered the marina, both in the water and in the coastal area. A total of 25 boats and over 250 sailors took part in the first day of the Autonomous Sailing Cruise Championship, which will be completed tomorrow. In the Optimist competition, a total of 10 teams from ten clubs from all over the Valencian Community took part in this event which will conclude tomorrow and which showed off the skills of the great promises of this sport in the water.
Last chance to enjoy
Solidarity, one of the values on which the Race Village is built, has been one of the ingredients present in some of the activities offered during the event. The “Asociación Rema Vida” has been present in the Village to present its rowing team formed in favour of the fight against breast cancer. The sportswomen have shown their skills in the water sheet of the Alicante marina docks. This ingredient of solidarity will continue on the last day. More than 1,000 runners will do two 5K and 10K routes to make the fight against this disease visible.
After the sporting event, children will be able to enjoy the show Beauty and the Beast The Legend, a delivery that has also sold out. Alicante Puerto de Encuentro will close these four days of festival by the sea with a great paella for all the public attending.
